From passion to preservation — a timeline of Classiche Masters since 2019

Classiche Masters began with a simple idea: if we want the Trident’s golden era to survive with its dignity intact, we need admiration, documentation, and certification. We need shared knowledge, and the right people connected at the right time. And we need standards worthy of the cars.

What started as an idea became a network and a mission that now spans editorial work, community building, sales curation, and restoration guidance. This timeline shows how momentum became structure, and how passion became preservation.

2019 ~ the spark

In 2019, the foundation was set: a commitment to preserve and support Maserati’s postwar heritage with a level of seriousness that matched the cars themselves. Nostalgia, yes—but also authenticity as a discipline, built on collaboration, research, and respect for the craftspeople who keep these machines alive.

From the start, it was about serving the cars and the people who care for them by creating clarity in a world that too often runs on hearsay.

2020 ~ a book, a platform, and a community

The first tangible milestone arrived with our publication, Classiche Masters: the finest workshops for classic Maseratis. The book is a tribute to the custodians of classic Maseratis: specialists who understand how these cars were made, how they should feel, and what “correct” really means when correctness is expensive and often invisible.

At the same time, Classiche Masters went digital with classichemasters.com. The intention was to create a living resource hub that educates and celebrates classic Maseratis with substance. The site is a practical reference point for enthusiasts worldwide: an overview of key postwar models, insight into the Maserati Classiche Certification of Authenticity, and an expanding mix of editorial content, curated video material, and direct access for consultation and project guidance. The webshop offers publications and merchandise for those who want to go deeper.

To expand the digital space, we launched Maserati Classics, a carefully curated Facebook community. The goal wasn’t rapid growth, but high-quality information, sales, and connections. A place where rare archival material sits alongside current restorations, where factory insights and concours moments are shared with context, and where the standard of conversation matches the standard of the cars. Curated daily, it grew into a global meeting point for owners, restorers, and dedicated enthusiasts.

2021–2022 ~ Alfieri Magazine takes flight

As energy in the Maserati community grew, the editorial mission expanded into Alfieri Magazine. The idea was to bring curated, tactile, richly detailed content that feels human and lasting. Print was a deliberate choice; these stories deserve permanence.

In 2021 and 2022, Editions 1 through 6 were released, and the readership grew globally.

2022 ~ Bring a Trailer, a new kind of transparency

In August 2022, a new chapter opened with our first successful sale on Bring a Trailer: a 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Coupé, which sold for $300,000.

Having a presence on Bring a Trailer is about raising the bar for how classic Maseratis are presented publicly through transparency, documentation, and historical integrity. Listings became case studies: hundreds of detailed photographs, in-depth history where possible, and video content designed to reduce ambiguity through walkarounds, driving footage, cold starts, and compression testing. In short, the kind of detail that allows buyers to assess a car with confidence.

From that first sale, the scope expanded. Subsequent auctions included:

Each listing followed the same principle: respect the audience, respect the car, and let the curation and documentation do the talking.

2023 ~ restoration consultancy

In 2023, Classiche Masters formalised a service that had already been happening organically: restoration consultancy. A classic Maserati restoration is rarely a straight line. It’s a sequence of decisions, some obvious, many costly, and a few that can haunt the final result forever. The consultancy is built for owners who want factory accuracy, trusted craftsmanship, and complete transparency, without losing clarity.

That support spans the whole arc of a project:

Just as significantly, this work strengthens the ecosystem. The network of restorers, craftspeople, and specialists continues to grow, and the feedback loop between owners, workshops, and Maserati Classiche becomes more effective when information is organised and shared responsibly.

Feel free to contact us for personalised guidance or to discuss your Maserati's restoration journey.

2024 ~ a community in motion and the first event

In 2024, Alfieri Magazine deepened its voice with Editions 7 and 8, expanding on racing history, designers, expert insights, and first-hand stories that keep Maserati history alive in the present tense.

Meanwhile, Bring a Trailer activity continued to grow, supporting clients through curated auctions that deepen understanding of these cars. The Facebook community became an even more active hub for daily discussion, historical sharing, and insights into restoration. And the Classiche Masters email newsletter strengthened the direct line to collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, keeping the network informed and connected.

Then came another physical milestone: Mistral 60.

In June 2024, Classiche Masters hosted its first event, celebrating 60 years of the Maserati Mistral, a Frua-and-Michelotti masterpiece, set against the roads and vineyards of Germany’s Black Forest. It was a weekend where owners, enthusiasts, and experts shared stories over spirited drives, with lunches and dinners worth lingering at. Because heritage is best preserved together.

2025 ~ the next depth of storytelling

Alfieri Magazine 9 was released at the end of 2025, aligned with 100 years of Maserati in motorsport—shaped by the belief that we’re documenting history as we watch it unfold. Behind the scenes, planning for Alfieri 10 is already underway for mid-2026.

2026 ~ the mission continues

Classiche Masters and Alfieri Magazine exist to help classic Maseratis be what they are meant to be. That means supporting restorations with accuracy; sourcing and reproducing hard-to-find components; and building a network of trust between owners, workshops, and factory heritage expertise. It means documenting stories and keeping the community’s standards high because these cars deserve nothing less.

The Trident’s legacy is a living archive, written one car, one connection, one story at a time.
