Oldtimer & Veteranenservice Löflath
A blast down the Autobahn to gorgeous Bavaria took us to the workshop of young and promising Stephan Löflath in Wildpoldsried. We’ll call his shop OVSL for convenience and to avoid pronunciation induced jaw cramps:-). Stephan is vastly experienced having learned his trade working for another workshop specialised in classic Maseratis. Several clients asked him to take their cars from the previous shop to his new one. We can see why, as the quality of craftsmanship is truly outstanding.
He is very ably helped by Manuel who speaks perfect English with a New Zealand accent as he spent his youth there. Manuel is as dedicated as he is competent and gave us a demonstration by dismantling a leaf spring suspension and talking us through it.
We took a superbly-restored 3500GT for a drive in beautiful hills with great views of the mountains. It is not so far from Neuschwanstein castle. That drive was as pleasing as the scenery was enjoyable with the sound of music replaced by a 3500GT!

Spare parts for Maserati 3500GT, Spyder, Sebring and A6G54.
In collaboration with fellow craftsman Martin Oberdörffer, Stephan Löflath has developed a list of parts specifically for the 3500GT Coupé, Spyder, Sebring and A6G54. For the A6G54, they are remanufacturing the cylinder head and parts for suspension and heating. This list is merely a small selection of what Martin and Stephan can provide. - Door retaining straps (the rod has to be adjusted)
- Direction indicator 3500GT, Glas, Aluminium anodized, nut brass, new sockets
- Wingnut cast in brass for 3500 GT/Sebring (battery/back panel upholstery)
- Trim rocker panel 3500GT, chrome-plated brass (original in stainless steel)
- 3500 GT, door sill/trunk, made in aluminium to the original design with seven stripes.
- Frame tube oval: Custom made in original CrMo alloy
- Horn contact with rubber isolator
- 3500 heating air collector, right-hand side, with motor/mount/fan blades. It is made to order.
- Power window pulley for Spyder, in plastic, including clips.
- New side indicator for Vignale Sebring 1. Also fits Vignale models from Fiat, Alfa, and Abarth too.
- 3500GT/Sebring: Shock mount, new, black powder-coated
- Fuel tank mounting set (8 x rubber, 16 x washers)
- Door panel trim for Sebring/ 3500 GTI. This has to be cut and tailored to fit.
- Door seal Sebring 1 as original, set L & R
- Inner rocker panel trim for Sebring 1. This has to be cut and tailored to fit.
- Washer fluid bottle, as FISPA (also Lancia/Fiat)
- 3500GT/Sebring/Spyder radiator grill, incl. side grill
- For Spyder or 3500GT: Radiator grille frame, only on order, has to be dry-fitted to the car, without chrome plating.
- FRAM power window switch „Microtechnika” new brass casting, chrome-plated
- Sun visor for 3500GT, acrylic brown.
- Mounting brackets for sun visor 3500GT / Vignale Spyder
- Screw set for convertible top Vignale, complete as original, incl. washers and mounting list
